Nancy O'Dell's career began in Myrtle Beach South Carolina as an anchor and reporter for news at WPDE-TV. Later, she was a morning news anchor for WCBD TV and acted as a crime reporter. In Charleston O'Dell's reports about the relaxed approach police take towards DUI cases resulted in an State Law Enforcement Division investigation which resulted in the State authorities issuing an even more strict directive on these cases. The Associated Press honored Ms. O'Dell by awarding her the Best Report of the Years Award across all South Carolina Media. Following her stint living in Charleston, O'Dell worked as a co-anchor for the NBC's Miami Station WTVJ-TV as well as an investigative reporter. Then she was hired by Access Hollywood to work as the weekend and weekday correspondent. The present role of O'Dell as host of Access Hollywood is complemented by her contributions to NBC News Today, Dateline NBC, and NBC News. She was a reporter for events like The Oscars, The Emmys, The Grammys, and The Golden Globe Awards. Alongside co-hosting the Pre-ShowArrivals to The Emmys & The Golden Globes. The other shows she has hosted include Miss USA, the Miss USA pageant, and Miss Universe.
