Anya Volz was born in Vermont and is now living her life in New York City. Her comedic style has been described as hilarious but not too preachy by men from all over America. She is the daughter of Dennis Alan Taylor, a former bank executive, as well as Jennifer Marina Joy, a psychologist. She is half English in half Spanish. Her father was an Argentine who had Scottish as well as English ancestral roots. Her mother is Spanish as well as English heritage. The four siblings of Taylor-Joy are from her father's previous marriage. Family lived in Buenos Aires up until Taylor-Joy aged 6 and later moving to Victoria district of London. Taylor-Joy stated that the relocated family had suffered trauma, and she refused to learn English because she hoped to go back to Argentina. Her school had to change from Northlands and then Hill House. After that, she was enrolled at Queen's Gate School, where she studied dance and performed in various productions.
